The mind is like an empty bin, with a lid of course. The lid is closed unless we, ourselves, choose to open it to whatever pollution, or wonders that might be thrown in. judging when to take the lid off my mind, or when to close it, is something I struggle with. But think about it, the more often we choose to be vulnerable maybe the more often good things get thrown in, diamonds among the rubble, treasures in the trash, and maybe the more often we can offer a bit of ourselves to the world, leave your mark, take a step forward, live up to your worth. Keeping the lid closed is safe, defensive, but you’ll never experience what it means to truly live. You’ll never have the chance to explore your own potential, test your strength, without the vulnerability, without the risk, you’ll never know anything. how can we say we know what love is if we never knew a so- called “broken heart”, what laughter is without the tears. This is sounding a little predictable, maybe you’ve heard it before, but things that are said over and over are said for a reason. Go ahead shelter your mind, brace your heart, but don’t expect life to spare you a second chance.
